The Vision
The Beauty of the Unfinished: The Raw Hem Box-Tee is a study in deconstruction. For this project, we asked ourselves: ‘What happens when you stop before the final step?’ The result is a garment that feels alive and organic. By intentionally leaving the bottom hem unfinished, we allow the natural tension of the knit cotton to dictate the shirt’s character. As you wear and wash it, the edges will roll and fray in a way that is entirely unique to your lifestyle. It is a piece that rejects the ‘perfect’ factory finish in favor of something more human and evolving.
Design and Proportions
The silhouette is a radical departure from the standard ‘Project’ fit. It features an exaggerated width paired with a slightly cropped length. This creates a ‘stacked’ visual effect when layered over other pieces or paired with high-waisted trousers. The absence of a traditional hemline removes the ‘horizontal break’ at the waist, allowing the fabric to flow seamlessly into your lower-body attire. The neckline is reinforced with a triple-needle stitch to provide a sharp contrast between the polished collar and the raw, rugged bottom.
Craftsmanship Details
Laser-Cut Precision: While the hem looks ‘raw,’ it is cut using industrial-grade lasers to prevent ‘laddering’ (the unwanted unravelling of vertical threads). Color Palette: The ‘Off-White’ color is achieved using raw, unbleached cotton fibers, reducing the chemical load of the production process to almost zero. Internal Reinforcement: We?ve added ‘bar-tack’ stitching to the bottom of the side seams to ensure the structural integrity remains intact despite the raw finish.
