The Vision

Vertical Strength

The Monolith LS is the cold-weather evolution of our flagship oversized tee. While the original Monolith focused on the ‘block’ silhouette, the Long Sleeve version emphasizes verticality. Inspired by the towering concrete facades of modernist city centers, this garment is designed to provide a sense of protection and presence. The graphic is a vertical high-density print that runs from the collar down to the hem, creating a bold visual anchor. It is a piece that feels more like a light sweater than a t-shirt, perfect for those who want the Monolith aesthetic year-round.

Structural Weight and Drape

This project belongs to our ‘Heavyweight Series.’ By extending the sleeves and maintaining our 280 GSM jersey, we?ve created a garment with significant physical presence. The weight of the sleeves adds a natural ‘pull’ to the shoulders, creating a drape that is incredibly clean and free of wrinkles. We?ve omitted the cuffs on this model, choosing instead a wide opening ‘Kimono’ style sleeve hem. This allows for a more fluid movement and a silhouette that feels more ‘fashion-forward’ and less like traditional sportswear.

Craftsmanship Details

The vertical graphic is applied using an embossed-ink technique, giving it a 3D texture that you can feel. It adds a structural ‘spine’ to the fabric. To ensure the heavyweight fabric sits correctly over trousers, we?ve added 3-inch side vents. This prevents the shirt from ‘riding up’ when you walk. The ‘Obsidian Black’ is achieved through a double-dye process, ensuring the deepest possible black that resists fading even after heavy use.
